£500,000 investment ensures Purdie remains at cutting edge of dished ends industry
Purdie Dished Ends has invested £500,000 into adding the latest in flanging technology to its production facility to ensure it remains at the forefront of the industry - and importantly able to offer a complete range of products to customers.
As a UK-leading supplier of dished ends for close to a century, Purdieâs products can be found in use across the world, from storage tanks, road tankers and pressure vessels to chemical plants, oil refineries and nuclear operations.
However, managing director Clive Anderson says the firm has been aware of the need to continue investing in the latest technology and machinery to ensure its products continually improve, its range of products expand, and its delivery times for customers reduce.
That led to the major investment in the new Boldrini Ribo 15 flanging machine, already capable of forming 25mm thick ends in larger sizes, the new Ribo 15 has, in most cases doubled the companyâs forming capabilities at the smaller diameter range.
âOur continued investment into cutting edge technology and the very best machinery means we are able to offer a complete solution to our customers, firstly from a choice of spinning and pressing methods, which can bring major benefits and savings, through to our ability to produce dished ends to a wide range of sizes and thicknesses,â said Mr Anderson.
âEnsuring we are able to provide the perfect product for each specific industry that turns to us in need of a dished end product is key to our offering, and that is why this investment made sense for our business.
âIt was an important advancement for us, as whether a customerâs need be for a 380mm to 6000mm diameter dished end, in 3mm to 25mm thickness material, we can now deliver that product.
âWe donât need customers to select their products from specific guide charts and sizes, we can be flexible and contract specific, and that is a big advantage to our customers and something they have welcomed.â
